CBD oil also known as cannabidiol is available on the streets at the beginning of the year. While there has been a lot of interest surrounding whether or not CBD oil for cancer can help health conditions like cancer. Although, some cancer patients claimed that their disease was cured while using CBD oil.
Basically, CBD oil is extracted from the resin glands of cannabis bud and flowers. It is a type of cannabinoid meaning a chemical that is naturally found in marijuana plants and it is then mixed with a carrier oil to form CBD oil.
While it comes from the cannabis plants, CBD does not create any form of intoxication. On the other hand, THC cannabinoid causes intoxication which is illegal in the UK.
However, Cancer charity Macmillan says that it is still unclear whether using cannabis has any anti-cancer effects. While there is some evidence that the best hemp oil for cancer might help with symptoms such as nausea and pain. For instance, there are some drugs that have been developed using the chemicals in cannabis have been effective in treating sickness caused by chemotherapy or improving a person’s appetite.
Although these studies have had mixed when used in clinical trials because of the mixed results, the general feeling of experts is that there needs to be more research into the chemicals that are found in cannabis and its possible benefits.
Additionally, the charity also lists three important things to keep in mind if you are thinking about using it:
Buying CBD online can be risky so the reason behind this is you don’t know what you are getting. For example, the pureness of it.
Cannabinoid THC can increase your heart-rate, cause dizziness, hallucinations, paranoia, and can also make you feel stoned. It may also interact with other drugs. That is the reason why the cannabinoid delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and the products that contain this content is illegal in the UK.
However, the chief medical officer at Now Patient, Dr. Andrew Thornber advised taking CBD oil with caution as it is not prescribed by a GP or Pharmacist at present because it is still not known the full side-effects. So, doctors would not personally recommend this as a medical practitioner.
Always take medicines that aren’t registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council to take with cautions and also chat with your pharmacist or GP before taking it.
